Thanks for the responses. I think I'm starting to understand this. So far the les.net seems to be a decent deal - $8.88/month flat rate or $3.50 + $0.011/minute - that's for the incoming calls. For outgoing calls, $0.015 / minute. And they are CRTC certified (according to http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/DID+Service+Providers), so hopefully that means their services are decent and will be around for a while...
