Hi All,

When Vista was released I was hard pressed to find a system that had XP on
it. Yesterday I looked again and there were plenty on the shopping list.
Another interesting point is that LG is giving resellers a kit that allows
you to "downgrade" to XP if you buy a system with Vista Business on it. My
experiences with Vista have been less than good and I've refused to allow it
on one client's network at all.

YMMV,

Dave

The numbers say that Vista did not stick very well. And by comparison, a
year
after the XP release you would be hard pressed to find anyone selling new pc

with 98 of me for that matter, so he does highlight a fact that Vista is not

selling well, the other fact is the continuing demand for XP, and the main
point of the article that XP lifespan has been extended for another year,
yes
it would bring back memories of 98 finally getting the last nail in the
coffin last year. He is also , i think is close to the point when
complaining
about the fragmentation of the Vista product line and a stiff competition
specially regarding 3d desktop ...
And no i am not expecting him to go Linux, but with some well played
tactics,
Linux could carve a crucial niche for itself regarding the desktop sphere.

On a side note, He mentioned all the promissed features to be available in
Vista, that never really made it past the promise stage. A stark reminder of

an old word usually associated with our beloved Microsoft: Vaporware.

Cheers
Szemir
