I personally LOVE Nvu, but there is a fork of it called Kompozer 
(http://kompozer.net/).  It is meant as a series of bug fixes to Nvu as 
it appears that Nvu development has stagnated a bit.  Nvu is sponsored 
by Linspire so you may find more information or alternative downloads at 
their site.

I have found the pages Nvu develops work great in Firefox but tend to 
look crappy in IE...go figure!  But...I also found it flexible enough to 
work around those IE issues.
