Hi All,
From the subject above you can tell what my problem is: I got a new
Dell Latitude D620 w/Dual Core and I want to install Linux on it
(actually I already did, Slackware 11.0).
However, when I load the recompiled kernel I get the dreaded "kernel
panic:VFS: cannot mount root fs" error.
VFS: Cannot open root device "xxx" or unknown-block(x,x)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(x,x)
I got the same error when I installed the kernel-generic-smp-2.6.17.13
kernel that comes with the distro.
What I need is a working copy of a working kernel-2.6.20x.config file. Help?
