If CLUG members are interested in getting a first-hand look how to install a debian "etch" box from bare metal, then I would be willing to do something like a show-and-tell debian install / update / upgrade demo. As I use the debian installer only for bare-bones installation, it takes getting used to debian's front-end package manager "dselect" to make this all come nicely together.
