I just use Knoppix and parted/qtparted (I usually like to boot knoppix into
runlevel 2, because it is faster than loading a GUI). This replaces
partion magic. You can also replace Norton Ghost with Knoppix as partimage
is part of the default Knoppix CD loadout. No need to reinvent the wheel
here.

There is also a linux rescue cd, google for system rescuecd, it has the
above tools and a bunch more. It does punish n00bs because it is mostly a
CLI disk (qtparted works, but you load it from the command line)

Basically you need to know what you are doing, not just faking it because
you happen to run linux (I am not pointing fingers, just giving some up
front, and what I believe to be truthfull/usefull advice).

Also, can someone forward me Aaron Seigo's and John (Jardine???) email
addresses offlist please?

Cheers
