Intersting story: Recently we needed hoses for watering trees on our acreage. Well, a normal person would go out and measure with a tape measure. How did my dad do it? With Google Earth of course! He measured down to the inch, and bought exactly how much hose he needed without even moving from his chair. Now if that isn't technology - what is?
