Sad to say but this could include us as well. Remember that we are so closely tied to the US in a lot of things that we almost don't have a choice but to stick with proprietary-ware. Like it or not the US is our biggest trading partner and we have to maintain compatibility with them. That being said, we have a huge opportunity here. As a nation we are so much more over-skilled, over-qualified and more technologically advanced than the Americans. If we could harness that and move that raft of qualifications and drive into open source we could become significant leaders (even more than we are now) in the new economy.
