Hey Group,

For those that are interested, we are starting to plan an Apache Webserver
workshop. We haven't got a target date yet but I believe April or May were
bandied about.

The goal is simple; to set up a working Apache Webserver, if time permits we
will go over things like security, additional modules like PHP,
PostGres/MySQL, PERL, etc. Everything else is up for debate. The last
workshop was a day-long affair kindly hosted by Shawn at his place of
residence.

If you are interested, please sign up on the CLUG Workshops mailing list:

This mailing list was set up a while back to deal with the planning and
participation of any workshops CLUG holds. The subject matter will change as
we go from one to another. The cycle goes like this: planning & preparation
followed by some support after the workshop. This of course does not prevent
various related topics from being discussed and such topics would be greatly
helpful to those participants who are doing this for the first time.

Again, we are looking for a small, manageable group of participants but if
you folks that are Apache savvy are free to impart some knowledge I know we
could use some guidance here.

This will most likely take place in someone's home like the last workshop
was and as such I would think we are looking at about ten people with
computers as a limit (maybe less). If you want to participate in a
mentor/guide capacity then I suspect the upper limit could be 15 but I don't
know for sure. Just throwing numbers out there so that we can get the ball
rolling.

Why a small group? Because the qmail workshop worked well and everyone
involved appeared to be in concensus that it was successful because it was a
small group and we don't want to mess with the formula. Larger groups become
more unruly and are harder to keep on the same track. We have already had a
number of questions regarding how this workshop will go and because of the
potential complexity of setting up an Apache server it should prove
challenging enough for a group of this size.

Sign-up now, so we can get this rolling.

Thanks!

Jarrod
