What about also showing the Vidalinux install on an older computer? its a gentoo based distro using anaconda as the installer, its still quite buggy but after the install shows what gentoo can do.

Hi Nick.
If a stage 3 fits better into the timeframe, than we go with that, The knoppix-distcc disks have a good set of gcc compiles, and can be selected during boot. So you only need to say the version number you will need.
I will start the foot-work regarding the compile-farm at DeVry , I hope i can get that one. On the other hand, anyone who has a laptop with wireless can chip-in with the compile. That would make it a true ADP = Audience Driven Presentation :-))

February is upon us. I understand we would have a GENTOO full install with compilation. Using Distcc !
by full install do you mean stage1? That's gonna take more than 30 minutes. I was thinking maybe do a stage3 install, which would still require compilation of quite a few packages, and make it into a distcc presentation as well.
BTW, watch the GCC version. Any variation can cause headaches.
I have prepared a set of disks with knoppix-distcc on them. We can use that for the compile farm. It would also be a good idea to have 2 people at hand to help with booting the compile farm.
I can also bring a 4 port + wireless 10/100 hub/router for all to connect to. while the install and compile goes on.
Now that the deep-freeze is gone :-)
Any comments, suggestions ??
