Think your math is a bit off here. 5mbit is equal to 5000 kilobits/second, divide by 8 bits in a byte and you get a best case download speed of about 625 kilobytes/second (and an upload of 125 kb/sec). Compare this to what I get over my Telus adsl of about 180kb/sec down and 65kb/sec up. So really, assuming a 300kb/sec download speed on a cable modem, your looking at around 2.4mbits down. > Now my question is this, isn't +-500kbps equal to 5mbit? I'd be tempted to go with them as they don't seem too concerned about how much data you move, whereas I've had to talk to Shaw a few times in the past. -- Matthew Kent <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> http://magoazul.com _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca Mailing List Guidelines (http://clug.ca/ml_guidelines.php) **Please remove these lines when replying
