I've had a Dell Axim (broken; partly bad hardware, partly me :-P) and a Palm m125
(current). The Dell units are decent as far as PDAs go. The price point is nice and
you get what you pay for: reasonably sturdy and reliable, but not perfect.

If you want to sync a Pocket PC under Linux, look to SynCE (http://synce.sf.net).
It's coming along, but I would have to say you probably still can't expect all of your
data to sync properly. Your options are also reduced using a Pocket PC -- pretty much
Multisync + Evolution or nothing (AFAIK).

IMHO, if you want a Pocket PC, stick to Microsoft operating systems. I spent far too
much time and effort trying to get reliable interoperability that will probably never
exist.

OTOH, I bought my Palm m125 recently (second hand because it was relatively cheap)
expressly because Palm are reputed to sync so much better with Linux. It has
performed flawlessly so far, and I have plenty of sync options (KPilot, GPilot,
J-Pilot, etc.). All in all, I'm very happy.

I have played with the new Tungstens; they just happen to be out of my price range
ATM. I would have bought one, had they not been. As far as bang-for-buck goes
(features, functionality, etc.), Palm is terrible compared to Pocket PCs (although
getting better). As far as ease-of-use (and, for me, reliability) under Linux, Palm
wins hands down.

My two cents. :-)

HTH,
Curtis S.
