This is generally applicable only to very old monitors. Sync rates
are pretty much irrelevant when it comes to LCDs anyway. Just choose
LCD and it should work.
There is no LCD option. Where would this be located? Perhaps my memory
is faulty...
On another topic, is xf86config used by many distros (ie Fedora,
Mandrake, etc...) on install, or do they use a different autodetection
system? I am running gentoo, so I guess it really doesn't apply anyway.
SuSE has its own, sax.
Debian has "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86"
Those are the only ones I've bothered with recently. Others can help
with the others.
