Are any of these switches managed? I ask because I have seen some unmanaged switches/hubs not play nicely with other managed switches. Tweaking the MDI/MDIX or 10/100Mbit on the managed switch (e.g. 10Mbit throughout your network, suggested earlier in the thread) usually cleared it up. A little simple, but maybe?
