Hey Jesse and Group at large,

Yes, I believe the plan will be for beer and wings or whatever beverage and
vittles people desire after both this Wednesday's meeting and after the AGM.
The usual location we hit is the Regal Beagle on Centre Street at 17th Ave
N.W., just north of 16 Avenue North (Trans Canada 1) or West of the Safeway
(across the Street).

Ha, yes we'll see if there are any nominations for the Executive Board
positions besides those of us who intend to continue in our roles. We will
be taking nominations by email or at this Wednesday's meeting. As Kari's
email said, the date for cutoff of nominations is this Thursday.

Jesse, if you do decide to run one of these years, I am sure that you will
be a force to be reckoned with. You are certainly one of our more outspoken
and dedicated members and I think you are an asset to our group. You
constantly give of your time to try and answer questions on the mailing
list. I thank you for that. I believe that you would make a good Executive.

I think that while we are still relatively small in numbers that it is
unfortunate that there may be no competition for the Executive Board
positions. The other thing I find fascinating is that we are almost too
polite a bunch of people. If someone stands up and offers to fill a role,
nobody wants to oppose them. I would like to think that the current
Executive is doing such a good job that nobody wants to replace us. However,
I don't want us to sit on such laurels or ever become complacent.

We achieved some of the things we were mandated. We got our Society status.
We are running some very organized meetings and certainly pulling in larger
numbers of attendees. I think there are still lots of things we can do to
make CLUG better and to advocate Linux and Free/Open Source Software. I hope
that whoever takes the reins for the next term, continues to push us
forward.

In case anyone is getting the wrong impression, I believe that every one of
the core Executives will be offering themselves as nominees for the next
Executive. We'll see this Wednesday I guess.

Regards,

Jarrod Major

Are we planning on going drinking afterwards to celebrate your successfull
re-
election? If so, then I will have no problem taking the night off work to
attend the AGM. Looks like it's going to be a close race ;-). Maybe one of
these years I will organize my own campaign and just cream you guys :-). See

you on Wed.

Jesse
