Perhaps I am dense, but I am not seeing the benefit for this hitting 4.1 (again perhaps I have missed it, so feel free to point it out to me). It looks like the storage pieces won't be used by anything in the 4.1 series. Dependency injection and other spring functionality would be nice, but it also seems like it would have little or no effect on the finished product. At the same time we are really close to freeze, this potentially blocks the work of others; and while it should be mostly innocuous, it is still a large amount of disruption, for what appears to me to be precious little benefit for the project or the 4.1 release. So why are we pushing so hard to get this done by freeze? --David
