Mike, I think I know the problem now. I'm working on merging master into javelin right now so I don't have time to debug it right now. Will try it after the merge is done.
Very quickly, I think the problem arises from I attempted in javelin to introduce database creation as a series of updates to an original schema. Because I started with a known database, I don't think the code I've written taken that into account.
