John Kinsella commented on CLOUDSTACK-877: ------------------------------------------ OK, use cases! :) I like where you're going with the wiki page - might want to spell out that you're allowing people to get logs from the SSVMs/hypervisors/etc? One thing to keep in mind - how to securely fetch the appropriate log from the system and provide it to the user. You can't take user input to specify a filename/path to file to retrieve. If you do that, it becomes difficult to make sure they're now downloading say a password file or database dump. Really not sure the best way to go about this - Unless the master/agents parse the contents of log4j-cloud.xml and syslog.conf (etc), the next best thing is to have a config file/db entry specifying where to grab logs. That'll work for basic cases... I suspect you might want to also create a separate feature request for some sort of 1-click download of relevant configuration options to send into support... > Export Log Files > ---------------- > > Key: CLOUDSTACK-877 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-877 > Project: CloudStack > Issue Type: New Feature > Security Level: Public(Anyone can view this level - this is the > default.) > Affects Versions: 4.0.0 > Reporter: Hari Kannan > Priority: Minor > Fix For: Future > > > https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/CLOUDSTACK/Feature+-+Export+Log+Files -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
