Brian,

I don't seem to be able to find any discussion on the dev list about this, and 
can't find a functional spec.  Can you either (1) discuss them and pull a spec 
together, or (2) indicate if this isn't something that you want to work on?

Also, if it is going to be worked on, please name the feature branch you will 
use in the description field above.
