Edison/Marcus please test and cherry pick both of them to 4.0? Thanks.
They were not blocker on 4.0 may be that's why we did not cherry-pick them.
But we should be in code freeze, otherwise there will be many bugs/features
which are targeted for 4.1.0 and they apply for 4.0.0 too.
