David Nalley commented on CLOUDSTACK-134:

Rohit:

So two comments:
1. The wiki can't be our official documentation. (we allow anyone to
participate there, we would have to restrict that to folks who are committers
if we want our wiki to be our official project documentation)
2. The project is only distributing source builds. Wido is distributing his own
binaries - which make no use of install.sh - and jenkins.cloudstack.org is
producing builds with install.sh that aren't for general public consumption
(the builds of the commit that is the current 4.0.0 are long since gone). So if
the install documentation doesn't document installing - what are we doing
shipping it?

Or are you advocating for ditching the guides?

> Due to license issue reported in CLOUDSTACK-30, vhd-util is removed from
> source code and packages. Need to document the procedure to download and
> install vhd-util during the mgt server installation.
> The current url is http://download.cloud.com.s3.amazonaws.com/tools/vhd-util
> If mgt server is rhel/centos, need to download from this url, then copy
> vhd-util into /usr/lib64/cloud/common/scripts/vm/hypervisor/xenserver/
> If mgt server is ubuntu, then put vhd-util into
> /usr/lib/cloud/common/scripts/vm/hypervisor/xenserver/vhd-util
> (Chandan adds:)
> We should also document the requirement of setting the following permissions
> to the downloaded vhd-util tool:
> Chmod 755 vhd-util
