Hi! We don't support bringing your own docker image on toolforge, you'll have to use the build service as you mention ( https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Build_Service) or one of the existing images (https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Web ).
If you find issues or need help, feel free to reply here or open a task (maybe easier for us to follow up). It also helps considerably debugging/troubleshooting if you provide the source code url, so I'd recommend passing that too when asking for help or advice. Cheers!
