We used to have these things called specifications and documentation but we all 
know what happened to those :-/

Docstrings are ok but no substitute for really well done docs. Yes they were 
"hard" to keep in sync w code but clear, comprehensive and succinct technical 
writing is a lost art IMO.

Obviously more work than needed for smaller systems but any significant project 
probably deserves some good docs regardless of the type system or lack thereof. 
Getting the type/shape right is only half the battle.

Schema goes a long ways with good ROI without a lot of ceremony. YMWV.
