Clever. The doc-strings for dformatter and dformat could use a little work. Remember, people will use (doc whatever) in the REPL so “same as above” isn’t very useful. Also, the dformatter doc implies more arguments than it actually takes. The order of arguments to dformat seems backwards to me -- usually the "format" arg comes before the value to be formatted.
