Well - not sure about interest levels :-) but I am soldiering on. I've tidied up and checked in the code I mentioned and some more stuff that I am playing with.
If you are running Fedora 20 x86_64 then you are only a few lines of cut-n-paste away from being able to build yourself a working graal-enabled jdk8.
