You still have the option that I've mentioned, which is to convert from 
dashed-style into camelCase only when actually sending JSON, for example by 
running the keys through one of these functions:

(defn camelize [s] 
  (s/replace (name s) #"-(\w)" (comp s/upper-case second)))

(defn upcamelize [s] 
  (s/replace (name s) #"(?:-|^)(\w)" (comp s/upper-case second)))
