I know how to call static java methods such as the ones defined here: http://grepcode.com/file/repo1.maven.org/maven2/org.apache.opennlp/opennlp-maxent/3.0.2-incubating/opennlp/maxent/GIS.java, e.g. trainModel(...). However, before I call this method I want to change the value of the variable SMOOTHING_OBSERVATION (see above link section #SMOOTHING_OBSERVATION).
