Curtis, I have successful built a ClojureScript app that uses SL4A (Rhino). The startup time is an issue, the performance isn't great but is acceptable. If you're just prototyping something or need a tool for in-house use - this is one alternative. Given the work and efforts that Cesar highlighted, you might be better off with straight Clojure.
Depending on the requirements of your app, you might also consider an HTML5 client-side application, and rely upon CSS functionality for graphical support. This would free you from Java, enable you to use ClojureScript, and comes with a lot of tooling support (and flexibility).
