I am pretty sure that it was implemented on a branch of the Clojure source tree, but never merged into the master branch. You can use git to check out a version of the Clojure source code that contains pvmap, but it might be more trouble than you are looking for right now, depending upon your level of interest. If that sounds like the right amount of trouble, ask away and someone could lead you through the steps. It would be included in an older version of Clojure from about 2 years ago, I think.
