I'm trying to use this functionality to deploy a library using Maven/Eclipse Juno on Windows and keep getting a timeout (but interestingly the jar and pom do make it up there) - see this SO question : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11837961/maven-deployment-timeout-failure-to-generate-checksums
