I haven't tried VTK, but you might find my clojure-python lib useful. It's something I spent a little bit of time on a couple years ago, and have been meaning to get back to it to improve it and turn it into a robust and respectable library ;), but I haven't had a need for Jython interop in anything I have been working on lately, so it's hard to prioritize it.
