This is one of the big problems with Clojure in Action - Manning did
not update it for Clojure 1.3 so it was out of date by the time it was
published :(

It refers to monolithic Clojure Contrib 1.2 and a bunch of other
deprecated libraries so you'll run into all sorts of problems. You
might do better to give it up and start afresh with either Clojure
Programming (written specifically for 1.3) or Programming Clojure 2nd
Ed (updated for 1.3).
