You want C-M-k, not C-k. C-k is a little more aggressive, since it
always kills at least to the end of the line. Consider the following
text, with | being the cursor/point:

(defn foo [x]
  (+ |10 x))

C-M-k kills just the 10, while C-k kills the x as well.
