It is only 80 or so pages which made it jump to the top of my queue :). There wasn't really any one thing, it just made lots of things click. He describes a FP construct or principle and then shows the Java implementation.
I am currently in hammock time before I jump in with both feet, and My roadblock is seeing how I can implement things in a functional way. This book helped bridged that gap for me.
