Excellent point. I'll add a couple further suggestions: 0) If you don't have time to update your posts, at least point to the official documentation and add a note that the post may be outdated. 1) Better yet, think about whether the time you're spending writing a "how I got $FOO working" blog post couldn't be better spent improving the official documentation. Think about how the documentation was lacking and why it led to the urge to write a blog post. Is there anything you can do to improve it? It won't get your blog Google juice, but in the long term it's a much more sustainable approach.
