Daniel (and anyone else reading this) I would like to correspond with you because I'm working on a project for which your "word graphing" is a subset. I invented a "standardized" electronic notecard (see http://infoml.org), with the idea that writers and others could dump "chunks" of information (with tags) into such "infocards," then manipulate them using a variety of tools.
I'm interested in exploring a category of programs I call "idea processors." Let's say you have a collection of, say, 5000 infocards (which you might have when researching a novel). An idea processor would help you explore and make new connections between your database of ideas. One approach for dealing with such a database would be to have the program analyze the database, then show (in 2D or 3D) "clumps" of infocards that might be similar, with 2D-distance connoting similarity. I've begun work on a visual front-end to display such infocards, using Clojure and the Piccolo graphics library (http://piccolo2d.org/). If you (or anybody else reading this) find this larger project interesting, please contact me by replying to this message. I'd really welcome some collaboration! Thanks. --Gregg W.
