I noticed that

(def z (let [d 3] (fn [] d)))
(eval `(identity ~z))

fails and raises java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError

while

(def y (fn [] 3))
(eval `(identity ~y))

works properly.

Is there some rule about evaluating closures I'm missing here?
