I still don't think it's possible. You just modify the Var to contain
a different object, which proxies to the original one. This is
basically what I suggested - just a little nicer.

The function itself cannot be changed since a class representing it is
generated with the required arities. Hmmm... Or are always all arities
generated with some stub? Ok, ok, I'll shut up now.
