Using the standard snu emacs on ubuntu 8.04 and on windows xp (no jocks about my up-to-dateness), it really was that easy.
One difference is that I installed the emacs starter kit which installs elpa and other generally nice packages. Don't let the name put you off. I've been an emacs user for > 20 years. The starter kit is useful for anybody. On Dec 6, 2009 1:02 AM, "Richard Newman" <holyg...@gmail.com> wrote: > This isn't true anymore. I'm sure that's how it's supposed to work, but just this afternoon I had a lot of trouble using a _fresh install_ of Carbon Emacs to install swank-clojure through ELPA; kept hitting undefined functions*, and that was after a few failed attempts to install. Fortunately I'm not a completely clueless n00b, so I fetched someone's recent swank-clojure repo off GitHub, wrote my own ant build.xml (because this one only came with a Maven POM, and I don't use Maven), and fixed up the b0rked ELPA install using the included .el files. I now have a working Slime connection to my own Swank Clojure server, and a working Clojure mode... but it's by no means as simple as "just hit 'i' on swank-clojure and ELPA will do the rest". * E.g., swank-clojure-slime-mode-hook. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Clojure" group.
