Karin Meier has done some experimentation using Clojure on GraalVM to call R and Python, and has a blog post <http://gigasquidsoftware.com/blog/2017/10/22/embedded-interop-between-clojure-r-and-python-with-graalvm/> and repo <https://github.com/gigasquid/graal-test/blob/master/src/graal_test/core.clj> that you may find interesting.
