Check with Rich and Stu and this was not intentional. Ticket filed at CLJ-2259. spec.alpha has been updated to move the generator mapping to decimal? (released as 0.1.143) Clojure 1.9.0-beta4 will remove this predicate and rely on the new spec.alpha release.
