I actually asked Nathan about a somewhat similar problem recently and he told me that making Specter support operations on multiple data structures would require a significant overhaul. Cases like this do seem quite common to me, though, so if there's a critical mass of interest I'd be willing to pitch in on it. I wonder if it makes sense to open a Github issue in order to gauge interest and discuss what changes it would require.
