>From ReactConf 2017, Cheng Lou's "Taming the Meta Language": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0T5OSSzxms
At the end (35:00) is a shout-out to Clojure and Rich Hickey... I thought it was a nice attribution of his inspiration for work he did on Factor and the React bindings. This talk reminds me of Rich's "Language of the System" which touches on similar issues. Cheng talks about the friction and overhead associated with certain aspects of software development and related artifacts, APIs, libraries, tests, documentation, etc. that he sees are improved when pushed "down" the hierarchy of meta levels to the most manifest level (code/language.) Rich outlined all of this and more in a very rigorous and expansive breakdown of the issues that Cheng hints at. Solving these problems are a motivating reason why I choose Clojure for my side project (I had to learn it first... lolz) Enjoy!
