1.) Both clojure and clojure-contrib were initially hosted on Sourceforge. 2.) Both clojure and clojure-contrib were later moved to Google Code. 3.) It appears to be impossible to remove a project from Sourceforge after creating it there. 4.) Clojure and clojure-contrib use Subversion as their source code version control system. Some people prefer git. That git repository is an unofficial clone of the Subversion repository for people who prefer to use git.
