Oh, check your permissions on var/lib/clamav, see if clam has access to it

    After I emptied the directory, and reran freshclam, I rebooted the box. Now 
clamav is not running
    due to this:
    
    Starting Clam AntiVirus Daemon: LibClamAV Error: cli_loaddbdir(): No
