exact. also I tried to install a new version on my "old box" but also
had problems when compiling .. anyway, is passing the time to update it
and I will work on that in the coming days.

You deleted all your virus databases, and you are still getting a
malformed database error?
Just to chime in on this that I have seen this as well today. Older
version of ClamAV (0.96) failing with the same message. It is
installed on an older box that I maintained many moons ago and the
person who should have been doing it is asking me about it now. I am
trying to build a newer version on it but I am running into build
issues. I am not really expecting the folks at ClamAV to do much
about it with the vintage of the install but I just wanted to say that
this is probably the issue.
