Re the connection to securite.com. It diverts to https with a certificate warning ( ironic considering their business ). Is clam getting caught with that security cert issue causing drop out. It might be worth checking if issue is pure timeout causing clam to exit or a security cert negotiation failure. Ive seen mail apps shutdown for bad certs but stay going with timeouts to servers.

Your response from my submission to your site via our PRO account eliminates your end ie not being blocked. But even if your end was blocking, was simply down for maintenance or we have some intermittent networking issue. I do think freshclam should not just give up and exit. If I use DatabaseCustomURL http://sitethattimes.out/file.hsb in freshclam.conf freshclam exits from daemon mode !!
