Are you asking a question or making a statement? I started with the
prepackaged version of ClamAV when I started using Linux but switched to
manual after getting frustrated waiting for system updates. I have done
both making my own install packages (RPM in my case) and just installing
from sources. I found installing just from sources easier unless you
have numerous systems to upgrade.
