Chuck, Thank you! I forgot to mention - I installed clamav from source, not from the port.
I've commented the files you refer to, and when I try and run: freshclam I get an error message: ERROR: Can't create temporary directory /usr/local/share/clamav/clamav-ae5424f541eb67aff110b7f7c4f22c3c Hint: The database directory must be writable for UID 1002 or GID 1001 I've checked this directory permissions (I'm logged in as root) and it's 755 Comments?
