Perhaps you might be able to kill two birds with one stone. Could you use something like BackupPC to back up all your servers to a single backup store, and then scan that? You'd probably cut down the CPU cycles used for scanning by a couple of orders of magnitude and as a side effect have an backup (another one I assume:) to show for it.
